Lance Wright

Funeral Director

I was born and raised in Auckland and attended Lynfield College. After leaving school I spent 10 years working for NZ Railways in the Traffic branch in Auckland. I have served for 24 years in the Ambulance service holding positions as a frontline paramedic, Rapid Response Officer, Clinical Standards Officer and Operational Recruitment Coordinator.

During my time with St John I had a break for 18 months and worked for Davis Funerals as a Funeral Director. I returned to Davis’s in 2009 as I believe it is the best job I could possibly have.

I have also spent 27 years as a member of the Auckland Volunteer Fire Police Unit and hold the rank of Station Officer; I was recently awarded the Gold Star for 25 years service.

My interests outside of work include being a railway and cruise ship enthusiast, I collect Emergency Services uniform patches and I love to travel. I am a peer supporter with the New Zealand Fire Police Fire Services.

I love being a Funeral Director as it gives me personal contact with families and being able to do something positive for them in a difficult time.
