I had not originally intended to make a career in the funeral industry and was studying to be an accountant. However, while on my OE in London in 1987, I took a job with Francis Chappel and Sons Funeral Services, in Kent. On returning to New Zealand I joined my father Cliff and brother Cedric at Davis Funerals. I have been a member of the Funeral Director’s Association since 1995 and I am a certified Funeral Director and Embalmer. My current role as President of FDANZ is both interesting and varied and keeps me extremely busy. I feel it is important to be involved in the industry at a governance level to ensure standards are upheld within the industry.

My hobbies include music, bike riding and golf. I have been an active member of the Rotary Club of Epsom since 2002, and past chairman of the St Michael’s Parish Council.

I have been married to Angela since 1990 and together we have three daughters. I love watching my girls play sport and Saturday mornings are taken up with netball, soccer and swimming. I consider myself to be a devoted family man and enjoy spending time with them. Travel has become a new interest for us as a family and we love to get away as often as possible to discover new places.
