New Crematorium Facility for West Auckland

On Friday 18 November, Davis Funerals blessed and dedicated its new state of the art crematorium facility at 150 Central Park Drive in Henderson. This further extends the services provided to the West Auckland and wider Auckland community.

Managing Director, Craig Little, has overseen the project which has involved installation of a new Matthews International cremator incorporating the most up to date technology ensuring protection of the environment was at the forefront of the project. "With the cremation rate currently at 75-80% in Auckland, environmental considerations were always going to be a factor in planning this project. We are also operating under strict air emission consents so constant monitoring of operation is a priority" says Mr Little.

Davis Funerals is also the first crematorium in Auckland to offer an environmentally friendly urn as standard to return ashes to the family. This in contrast to the plastic urn offered by other crematoriums for many years. The urn was developed exclusively for Davis Funerals by Return to Sender, an award winning and leading developer of environmentally friendly caskets.

The blessing and dedication were performed by the Anglican Bishop of Auckland, the Right Reverend Bishop Ross Bay and Catholic Priest Father Peter Tipene.
