Music and DVD Memorial Presentations

Music can often express our emotions and feelings in a way that our own words cannot.
As a medium for the act of remembrance, music can have a powerful effect on those present at the funeral service. There are some important factors you should consider when choosing music for a funeral service.

  • Music has a different meaning to each and every one of us.
  • Listen to the lyrics carefully -you may be surprised by what they say.
  • Remember that three minutes can be a very long time to listen to
music in the setting of a funeral.

It may be a good idea to have a compilation of music to play before the funeral, as well
as a piece or a period of reflection during the service and a piece at the end of the service. You may wish to include hymns or other ceremonial music.

Whatever your choice your Funeral Director will have a number of suggestions and
at Davis Funerals we have a catalogue of recorded music to choose from.

DVD Memorial Presentations

Most people agree that photos are a wonderful way to recall a life well lived. A relatively recent innovation in funeral service is to put a collection of photos onto a DVD disc accompanied by a piece of music selected by the family. This is then played as a visual tribute during the funeral service.

The family can supply the photos on a DVD for us to play, or the family can give us the photos and we can create the DVD presentation for you.
